FOTD: BRONZE & BLUE

17092013

I literally just purchased MAC Amber Lights eyeshadow and MAC Sculpt, and I’m already writing a post about it. Am I fast or what? (Answer: yes, you Wonderwoman!)

Eyes:

Base: MAC Paint Pot in Soft Ochre
Lid: MAC Amber Lights
Eyeliner: MAC Fluidline in Midnight Blues (LE), topped and blended out with INGLOT 428 Pearl
Brow bone: MAC Phloof!
Lashes: Max Factor False Lash Effect in Black
Eyebrows: MAC Omega

I applied the bronze shade all over the lid and 1/2 on the inner lower eye lid, connecting the outer parts with each other. On the dark blue gel liner went, making a slightly upwards winged liner, blending and thus softening it out with a pearl dark blue eyeshadow outwards. Highlighted with some frosted, slightly rosy, eyeshadow, and curled and coated my lashes with my standard black mascara.

Face:

Concealer: Garnier Roll-On Anti-Dark Circles in Light/Medium + MUFE Full Coverage Concealer in 17 + Collection Lasting Finish Concealer in Fair
Foundation: Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Even Finish Foundation SPF 15 in Porcelain
Powder: MAC Skinfinish Natural in Light
Blush: MAC Dame
Contour: MAC Sculpt

Foundation-wise, I went for a light coverage, long-wearing one that matches my non-tanned skin perfectly. I corrected my under eye area with a blend of the Garnier and MUFE concealers, highlighting with the fair Collection concealer just under my under eye area. Powdered off with a bit of skin colored pressed powder to hide any remaining redness, after which I contoured with my newfound sculpting powder. I used the fairly know ‘3E-method’, focussing the distribution on the hollows of my cheeks and my forehead, brushing any residue on my jawline. I quite like the contoured look, never thought I would. I was always content with adding a bit of depth with my bronzer, but was never quite satisfied with their more brown or orange undertones. This one has a grey undertone, making it perfect for my fair complexion – and many other, might I add.

I quite liked the warmth the bronze eyeshadow brought to my eyes, whilst the cool dark blue liner made it even more wearable for me. The liner looks nice when not blended with a blue eyeshadow, but I like the softness it creates.

Do you use a contouring/sculpting powder?
