Yes, I am wearing a fluffy dressing gown in this picture. It’s wintertime, no judging the cold blogger here!

I absolutely love wearing cranberry shades in autumn and winter, but sometimes it’s a bit too out there for me. I love love lovepairing cranberry with a warm gold, particularly with MAC Woodwinked, but that’s definitely less low-key than I was looking for on this particular day, so I decided to pair it with a “dull” matte grey shade, and I love how it turned out! This is how I did it:

Base: MAC Paint Pot in Soft Ochre
Lid: MAC Copperplate
Crease: MAC Star Violet
Brow bone: MAC Phloof!
Lashes: Max Factor False Lash Effect
Eyebrows: MAC Fling + MAC Omega

This is the easiest how-to ever. Start off with applying a base of choice. Then apply a grey matte eyeshadow onto the lid after which you  just blend in the cranberry shade into the crease, blending it up and out to just below the brow bone. Just a light swipe of highlighter on the brow bone, some mascara on the lashes and finally some filling in the eyebrows and bob’s your uncle! I used my trusty MAC Omega to fill in the brows after I experimented with MAC’s eyebrow pencil in ‘Fling’. Still not sure if this measures up to my other eyebrow favorites, but I’ll get back to you on that later on.

Concealer: Collection (2000) Lasting Perfection Concealer in Fair 1
Foundation: Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay-In-Place Makeup SPF 10 in C1
Blush: NARS Sin

I’ve only just purchased the much celebrated Estée Lauder foundation, but I’ve already found out two things: 1) do not, I repeat, do not forget to moisturize properly before applying this foundation, and 2) act quickly when blending cause this stuff dries down like no other foundation I’ve ever used. So after moisturizing, I applied my concealer first and then foundation. Usually I like to apply my base in reversed order, but I find that it’s difficult to apply a liquid or cream product over this foundation once it’s set. I finished it off with a light (!) dusting of NARS’ Sin to match the whole autumnal color palette.
