MAC LIPSTICK COLLECTION

I’m not a daily lipstick wearer, and when I wear it I want it to stand out. It has to be the centre of the look, not just to finish it off, which explains why there aren’t many neutral shades in my collection. After all these years, I find that MAC is still champion at providing vivid lip colors for mainstream and professional use.

So far I’ve managed to accumulate ten lipsticks that I’ve come to love and use with much delight. The tenth lipstick is in the shade “Creme Cup”, a beautiful light pink, but unfortunately it has somehow gone missing from my stash.

All of these lipsticks have different formulas and textures and, obviously, color schemes. So, without further ado, here’s a little swatch ‘n review for ya.

Riveting Rose LE (Frost) is a deep berry plum shade, with a more purple undertone and a slight blue pearl sheen to it. It’s a very interesting, flattering shade that’s perfect for wear in autumn and winter. It was limited edition, but MAC Rebel and Hang Up seem somewhat similar.

Ruby Woo (Matte) is a vivid red shade with a blue undertone. This is by far the driest formula I have ever come across in a lipstick, but that also makes the longevity so much better.

Lady Danger (Matte) is probably my favorite red lipstick. It’s a vivid orange-red that pretty much suits everyone. Foolproof bright lipstick.

Flat Out Fabulous (Matte) is a cool-toned fuchsia plum shade. I love this shade and formula so much I dedicated a whole blog post to it. Click here to read it.

Girl About Town (Amplified) is that classic bright fuchsia pink shade. It has blue undertones which keeps possible yellowing of the teeth at bay, and goes on very opaque.

Chatterbox (Amplified) is a cool bright red-pink shade. It’s a very interesting and stand-out shade amongst all those pink lipsticks that are out there. It’s the perfect pink color. It’s not too neutral to be “just one of those pink lipsticks”, yet not too bright that you can’t pair it with, for example, a smokey eye. I’m absolutely smitten by this shade-and formula!

Lavender Whip (Cremesheen) is a cool pink lavender shade. It’s such a unique color! On my lips it looks exactly like pink and lavender made a glossy baby!

Modesty (Cremesheen) is a neutral nude pink and is also the very first MAC lipstick I ever purchased. First time around I decided to go for a safe and neutral ‘my lips but better’ shade-a decision I have never regretted. I love wearing this lipstick with dark smokey eyes. It’s a very wearable nude lipstick that accommodates  both dramatic and natural looks perfectly.

Ravishing (Cremesheen) is a neutral peachy coral shade with a soft shimmery finish. A lovely summer lipstick!

I’m absolutely positive my MAC lipstick collection is only going to expand as time goes on, as I’m so happy with all the ones I have so far.

Which lipstick is your favorite? Or favorites even?
