It ain’t fall just yet! Here’s a make-up, beauty and non-beauty related throwback to the summer of ’15.

As far as favorite body self tanners go, I’ve been loving two products in specific: Clarins Golden Glow Moisturizing Body Lotion and the Clinique Self Sun Body Tinted Lotion in Light/Medium.

They are fairly similar in regards to the obtained end result, i.e. a uniform golden tan (kudos to Clarins for spot-on advertising) that lasts a fair while. The main difference is that the Clinique one has a guide added to it, gives a slightly deeper tan and lasts a bit longer on me. The Clarins is a tad more natural and sinks into the skin much more quickly. So far, I prefer the Clarins one, though the added guide that the Clinique one has, is definitely bonus feature.

To touch up/keep up my tan I always add a few drops of the Clarins Radiance-Plus Golden Glow Booster to both my body lotion and facial moisturizer. Mind you, there’s one for the body and one for the face, which are very different in formula and concentration so don’t be fooled when picking these babies up! I mainly like the one for the face, as it’s just so dang convenient. The one for the body’s great, too, although I wouldn’t recommend for a standalone self tanner, as it gives a very slight tan and fades reasonably quickly.

These products are Clarins’ “made-to-measure” self tanners, meaning you decide what products you add the self tan to and through choosing the amount of drops you add, you have full control on how intense you’d like your tan to be.

For my time spent in the sun, however precious those moments may be, I’ve happy to announce that I’ve found the perfect facial SPF; cue the Chanel UV Essentiel Daily UV Care Multi-Protection SPF 50. It’s all very simple: its water like formula doesn’t make my face an oil slick, doesn’t interfere with whatever products I decide to slap on that day and, importantly, prevents sunburn like a boss.

As far as foundation and concealer goes, a mix of the Clarins Instant Concealer in 01 and Pro Longwear Concealer in NC20-NC25 has done the trick for me. Lightweight, luminous whilst accommodating my combination to oily skin, and sufficiently long-wearing. No cake, no flake. All good.

For added warmth and such, I’ve reached for MAC Bronzing Powder in Matte Bronze, NARS Luster and occasionally MAC’s Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in the shade Medium Dark (not shown) most.

When opting for a tad more color, I’ve been liking adding a more pink blush on top, inter alia MAC Fleur Power and, as a welcome novelty, the KIKO Soft Touch Blush in 110.

The award for best waterproof mascara still goes out to the MAC False Lashes Waterproof. No clumps or flakes, great separation of the lashes in a very natural yet lusciously flared way.

Although my love affair with MAC’s Painterly is still very much alive, for days where I needed something to control the oil on my eyelids, but when Painterly felt a little excessive, I’ve enjoyed using the NARS Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base. Can’t be more vocal about it than this as it just does what it’s advertised to do, I guess.

I am a known advocate for a proper make-up tools, and here’s the new kid in town: the MAC 135 Large Flat Powder Brush. Amazing as an all over powder brush, but an absolutely champ for bronzer – definitely when wanting a sheer, silky smooth application.

These last few weeks two polishes adorned my nails: Essie Tart Deco and OPI I Just Can’t Cope-Acabana. Great formula, doesn’t chip on me for ages and is perfectly long-wearing on my nails. Brrrright.

As antiperspirant I’ve discovered the Biotherm Deo Pure Invisible Roll-On, and I must say it’s one of – if not the – best one I’ve tried so far. Smells lovely and keeps this feat up for at least 6-8 hours.foto 2.PNG

“All seems beautiful to me,
I can repeat over to men and women
You have done such good to me, I would do the same to you,
I will recruit for myself and you as I go,
I will scatter myself among men and women as I go,
I will toss a new gladness and roughness among them,
Whoever denies me it shall not trouble me,
Whoever accepts me he or she shall be blessed and shall bless me.”

“He says the best way out is always through.
And I agree to that, or in so far
As that I can see no way out but through—
Leastways for me—and then they’ll be convinced.”

“For those who believe in God, most of the big questions are answered. But for those of us who can’t readily accept the God formula, the big answers don’t remain stone-written. We adjust to new conditions and discoveries. We are pliable.
Love need not be a command nor faith a dictum. I am my own god. We are here to unlearn the teachings of the church, state, and our educational system. We are here to drink beer. We are here to kill war. We are here to laugh at the odds and live our lives so well that Death will tremble to take us.”
Charles Bukowski

I am SO ready for the new season to properly begin. I’m truly an autumn-winter gal at heart.
